The End of Interview

Once again, firm hand shake, thank the person for their time, and say that it was a pleasure for you to meet them. Re-iterate that you want the job and would relish the opportunity to meet the person again. Ask when you can expect to hear from them again.

Straight after the interview, write down as much as you can remember about what was discussed. Next, send a follow-up letter to the interviewer where you:

  • Once again thank them for the time they spent with you.
  • Explain that having listened to the points he/she made (about XYZ), you can see how important the job is within the company.
  • Re-iterate your interest in the position, and why you think you are suitable.
  • Again leave your contact information.
